Solo Parenthood

I provide therapy for solo parents in person or online

Solo Mother By Choice

If you're a solo parent, or you're considering solo parenthood, you may be carrying a unique mix of joy, responsibility, grief, hope, and uncertainty.

The decision to become a parent on your own can be deeply empowering, but it can also bring challenges that can feel hard to talk about and you might be unsure what someone might think or feel about your choices. You might be navigating fertility treatment, donor conception, pregnancy, parenting without a partner, complicated family dynamics, loneliness, exhaustion, or questions about identity and belonging.

As a solo parent by choice myself, I know there are parts of this journey that can be difficult to put into words. You may be looking for a therapist who already understands the landscape—someone you don't have to explain donor conception to, justify your decision to, or educate about the realities of raising a child on your own. If that's what you're looking for, I can be that therapist.

That doesn't mean our experiences will be the same. Every solo parenting journey is different. But I do understand what it's like to hold immense gratitude alongside fear, overwhelm, sadness, or self-doubt, and to navigate a path that can feel deeply meaningful and immensely pressurised.

Therapy offers a space where all of these experiences are welcome.

Whether you're thinking about becoming a solo parent, trying to conceive, adjusting to life with a baby, navigating the realities of raising a child on your own, or looking for therapy unrelated to your parenting journey, we can explore whatever is on your mind. Together, we can make sense of the emotional challenges, strengthen your connection with yourself, and help you find a way through that feels authentic and sustainable.

I offer a warm, affirming, and non-judgemental therapy space in Kendal and online, where you don't have to carry everything alone.
